Introduction to the Scientific Programme
The preliminary scientific programme of Excellence in Child Mental Health covered a range of topics on the following thematic streams:
- Child Mental Health Disorders
- Child Mental Health Interventions
- Child Mental Health Services.
The variety of sessions used innovative and interactive teaching techniques through round tables, symposia, clinical conferences, practical workshops, debates, clinical guidelines, current issues, debates and plenary lectures. The overarching objective has been to improve practice by combining clinical innovation with research evidence. At the same time, selected presentations by young clinicians and poster presentations on a wide range of topics encouraged the incorporation of new ideas in a dynamic and friendly learning environment.
