Welcome Address

Dear colleagues,

It is my great pleasure to invite you to this stand-alone event in Child Mental Health, which will take place in London, on 3rd December 2010 on the occasion of Excellence in Paediatrics. This will be a pre-launch event of Excellence in Child Mental Health, which will be inaugurated in December 2011 in Istanbul and will rotate on an annual basis among mainly European cities.

Having identified a need to cover the educational requirements of the practicing child mental health practitioner through an international conference, we decided to establish Excellence in Child Mental Health. The conference aims at providing its attendees with developing scientific knowledge that can be applied in everyday clinical practice across the world.

Outstanding international speakers are recruited to join the Faculty and deliver interactive and networking sessions, ultimately aimed at generating state of the art guidance on topics related to Child Mental Health.

To ensure maximum interaction and networking, Excellence in Child Mental Health is capped at 1.000 delegates. Especially for the stand-alone event, which will take place in December 2010, participation is limited to 250 delegates. These will have the additional opportunity to attend selected sessions of Excellence in Paediatrics, which are related to child mental health.

We invite child psychiatrists (whether fully qualified or trainees), nurses, social workers, psychologists and general paediatricians with a specific interest in child mental health to join this stand-alone event and participate actively in its sessions.

Some of the topics that will be addressed during the stand-alone event in Child Mental Health on the 3rd of December include the international perspectives on child mental health services, physical illness and mental health, depression and self harm, autism, early onset psychosis, conduct disorders, eating disorders and ADHD. I invite you to stay tuned in our website in order to keep updated with all programme and speaker developments.

I look forward to seeing you in London in December!
